One Hundred Trees is a painting project spanning 3 years. An Estonian story admonishes the human disregard and misuse of the forest surrounding a village. One night the trees simply get up and leave. My intention has been to paint one hundred trees and hang the paintings in a forest. At the end of the day the paintings will be gone but the trees remain. The paintings are finished... the one day gathering will be held here on Morrison Island among the cedars, oaks and pines that surround our hearth. From 10 until 4pm on September 2, 2012. Confirmed attendance robins, red squirrels, chipmunks, etc. Herbal tea and poppyseed cake for all - please bring a mug or cup.
